You’ve heard the term “superfood,” but what are they and why are they so super?

A superfood is a high-nutrient, low-calorie food that’s rich in antioxidants, vitamins or phytonutrients. They can boost your energy, improve your immunity, increase your longevity and are just super for your overall well-being.

The world today is full of many pollutants that can affect our health – pesticides, fungicides, antibiotics, smog – just to name a few. We are constantly fighting an uphill battle to stay healthy. Smoothie Recipe

Want to power up your smoothies? Here’s a super delicious smoothie packed with superfood to jumpstart your day!

Blueberry Coconut-Vanilla Superfood Smoothie

1/2 cup fresh or frozen organic blueberries

1/2 cup frozen acai berries or 1 Tbs. Acai powder

1/2 Tbs. ground chia seeds

1/2 Tbs. ground flaxseed

1/2 Tbs. hemp seed powder

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2 cups coconut milk

1 tsp honey or 2 pitted Medjool dates

½ cup ice

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.  
  • Top with cacao nibs and goji berries
